Enjoy Superfood Snacks by Navitas Snacks [Review and Giveaway]

I like to have some snacks throughout the day, and usually go for almonds or mixed nuts. But I really like when I have the chance to try something different. They're snacks are certified organic, non-GMO, and they also have gluten-free options!

I had the chance to try Superfood Coconut Chips, Superfood Almonds and Superfood Pepitas by Navitas Snacks. And if you are curious about what they meant by superfood, here's a portion of their definition from their website -

"A superfood is a nutrient-dense fruit or vegetable that contains a high content of antioxidants, protein, omega-3, minerals, fiber or other essential nutrients that have proven health benefits."

Read more about it on their website.

And here's my thoughts on what I had the chance to review -

Coconut Chips (Cacao)

I liked these although they were a bit chewy and stuck together, but they tasted GREAT! I LOVED how they tasted. It had a light coconut flavor but I they had a cocoa vibe to them so that made them even more awesome. I mixed them into yogurt and it made the yogurt that much better. Absolutely my favorite of the kind I tried!

Super Food Almonds (Cacao)

These almonds didn't have a strong flavor (there was a slight cocao taste to them but you didn't get it right away, only after you've had a few). Overall with almonds, I'm not a huge fan of having them in terms of a sweet flavor, I prefer spicy. But they still tasted pretty good, although they weren't my favorite.

Superfood Pepitas - Coconut Hemp

The "hemp" part of this made me wonder a bit but actually I enjoyed these a lot. These tasted great and I preferred these over the two kinds of snacks I got! By the way if you're curious what "pepitas" are, I'll save you the google search - they are pumpkin seeds! These had a sweet taste to them, and they were so easy to eat. I highly recommend!

I think Navitas Snacks would be an excellent snack to add to your shopping list. I know I've seen them in Whole Foods, so I highly recommend you try the snacks that I did. I really think you'll like what they have to offer!

Best of all I get to giveaway the Coconut Chips and Pepitas to one lucky winner! Enter via Rafflecopter below. US Only. Ends 9/18.

[Guest Post] 6 Tips & Tricks for Choosing Your Bridal Gown

This is a guest post featuring some helpful tips about bridal gown selections.

1. Know what you want.

First of all you need to understand for yourself what types of bridal gowns you like before getting to bridal gowns stores in Toronto. You can find the models that you would like to try via the Internet or at the printed magazines. The best way is when you come to a bridal gowns store and say: “I need Mori Lee number 5, size 2” so the assistance will be able to understand what preferences you have to help you.

2. Everything needs to be done in the right time!

With no doubt, you should start thinking about your bridal gowns choice beforehand, but if you start doing it when you just meet a man, then know that it is too early! Most experts would advise to start looking for a bridal gown around eight months before your wedding day.

On the other hand, if you begin to look for bridal gowns too early and buy one too early, then you get into a risk group of second-guessing your choice in the few following months. So bridal gowns experts advise to shop for a dress in the appropriate time.

3. Custom design

If you have always dreamed about a Mori Lee dress with some extra custom design, you need to understand that this type of bridal gowns should be ordered at least half a year beforehand. It is simply impossible to get a custom dress made in a very short amount of time, moreover, you might be made to pay extra for it. In case you need to get married in a couple of months and want a custom Mori Lee dress, then some places might do that for you, but be ready to overpay for such option.

4.  Thanksgiving and Christmas bridal gowns

At the end of the year most bridal gowns stores expect a huge rush of end-of-year engagements that is why they raise their prices. So if you are able to shop before the New Year, then you can beat the newly engaged rush, and as a rule can get a great bridal deal from some of the older stock stores.

5. Budget

Unfortunately budget is a stop sign. You need to absolutely clear understand this when trying on bridal gowns that you like. Do not try something very expensive unless your wedding budget will allow you to buy it! What bridal gowns experts in Toronto also advise to do is to say about your budget to your friends and family who will help you to choose the right one.

The opinions in this post do not reflect my own. I have been compensated to post this article.

[Guest Post] Top Tips for Every Baby Photographer

Every new and professional baby photographer in Toronto knows about force majeure situations during the photo sessions and some that happen afterwards and this guest post written by a baby photographer from Toronto for any baby photographer to help him or her deal with such not pleasant issues.

Poop on the blankets.

Poo is the least pleasant thing in babies but it is something that happens all the time with any baby photographer. Experts say that the best way to get rid of it is Oxi Clean Spray, just buy it and follow the directions on the bottle!

Props and Fabric Cleaning Issue.

Not every beginner baby photographer in Toronto washes his or her props after every session, but this is a must-do! If you provide your little customers with clothes, when washing put them all into safe bags. Never use automatic drying!!! For the regular props, our professional baby photographer expert advises to use special antibacterial all natural wipes or spray in order to wipe off everything after the session.

Safe Laundry Soap.

Today every baby photographer in Toronto uses his or her own typical soap but unfortunately not all kinds are safe for kids. The best way is to buy a natural dye free product, the most common and best in use are Dreft and ALL Free & Clear. In case of using gentle for babies’ skin soap you will always feel comfortable if asked by the parents.

How to protect your bean bags from poos and pees of babies? In this case, as one baby photographer from Toronto said, babies are just like little puppies! You can simply buy puppy pee pads to deal with this problem. They are small enough for babies and can easily provide the required protection between layered fabrics, should any accidents occur.

Different head sizes.

All babies are different and so are their heads. If you want to use a headband or a hat for a baby and it constantly slips down or is simply too big, then this will be your magic wand. One professional baby photographer from Toronto advises to use a small alligator hair clip. It easily tightens girls’ headbands in the back. For hats he uses tiny claw clips to hold their little hats in place.

Dress code for a baby photographer.

There is no universal rule as about dress code for the evening. You are a photographer, and you are behind the lens. Every baby photographer in Toronto needs to know the most important fact about the clothes – it should be comfortable! Also remember that as we are talking about newborn sessions the room will be warm for the babies so dress accordingly. It is also advised to wear in neutral colors because your clothing may cast colors on baby when photographing.

Send Me Gluten-Free - August Box Review (And Giveaway)

Some time ago, I had the chance to review the monthly subscription box for Send Me Gluten Free. It had a variety of interesting flavors and experiences to try - some I enjoyed more than others. And I had the chance to try out the July subscription box and I can't wait to tell you about it! Take a look at the photo above and that will give you a pretty good idea of what you can expect inside, but here's more about each item I received -

Beanfield Bean Rice Chips - Nacho

You can't go wrong with chips and I love these bean & rice chips. They taste hearty and you can taste the mild bean flavor, which is a good thing (makes me feel healthy!). This is a better alternative to the standard chips you may buy in the store. I highly recommend trying these for yourself.

Keenwah Quinoa Puffs Aged Cheddar

Oh these were good, but EXTREMELY crunchy. Like, whoa, crunchy. But they were still awesome, and I loved the cheddar flavor.

Gluten Free Toast Cover

I haven't tried this, I'm trying to cut back on purchasing gluten-free bread these days (it's a bit expensive sometimes) but if you are in a toast mood, and you have a non-gluten free person sharing your toaster, this is a great item to use to protect your gluten-free bread from getting contaminated with gluten bread. Every bit of help counts!

Justin's Maple Almond Butter

You may see these packets in stores and if you do, they make a great packet to add to your lunch or spread on an apple. It's just enough! I love this maple almond butter and it was such a nice treat to see in this box.

Yummy Snack Peppermint Bar

This was a bit too strange for me,  I actually didn't try this (my brother did). But you know what? He enjoyed it! So to each your own, I say!

Glutino Gluten Free Pretzels

How fun it was to see one of my favorite gluten-free brands in this box! Glutino! Well, you guys know that I've already had the chance to sample them before, so I just have to say these are great pretzels, although personally, I do prefer the buffalo style kind.

Home Free Mini Vanilla Cookies

Ah, these were good. My family and I had to share these. What great tasty mini-cookies these were. If you want an amazing snack tip - buy a pack of these with the JUstin's Maple Almond Butter and spread some of the almond butter on top of these mini cookies - DIVINE!

Go Raw Sunflower Seeds

You can't go wrong with sunflower seeds. I really like sunflower seeds in general, so this snack wasn't unfamiliar to me. I thought these tasted good and were exactly what I would expect from sunflower seeds (I was also VERY grateful these were mildly salted).

I haven't tried this just yet - it's a bit unfamiliar to me, so this may be one I let my brother just have. It isn't that I think it won't taste good - it probably will! But I'm not too huge a fan of things like these, and a little reluctant to take the plunge and try. But again, to each their own! You may love it!

Kickers All Natural Powdered Fruit Blends

I haven't tried this just yet either, as I'm not a fan of powdered blends, but I think this a great idea. It does have good ingredients though so definitely check it out.

Chia Salt Spray - Sample Size

You know what? I used this today before I left for work and I like this stuff! It gives you hair a nice feeling, sort of situates whatever style you are going for that day. It also makes your hair smell nice. It isn't as heavy laden as a lot of gels or hairsprays may be, and I really like that.

Jubilee Mix - Spicy Wholesome Trail Mix

This was a mixed bag for me. It's a great healthy snack and overall tastes decent tasting, but wasn't fulfilling to me.

One of my favorite feature of the Send Me Gluten Free box is the coupons. You can get some amazing deals and great products that you can purchase in the store. For example, there was a coupon for Cabot Cheese that I redeemed ($4.00 my purchase of Cabot cheese) and I had wanted to try it for some time now. Some other coupons I may not redeem, but just getting to see all these deals are my favorite parts of this subscription service.

As you can see by all the items listed above, you get an amazing variety of goodies. I think with subscription boxes, especially those that send out food or snack items, there will always be stuff you don't like and some you do, but each time I've tried Send Me Gluten Free, I've been really happy about the variety I get and I LOVE the coupons you get with each box. I think this is worth the subscription alone. If you eat a gluten-free diet, by choice or because of an allergy, than you will want to subscribe to this. You get the chance to try out so many different varieties of snacks and you are introduced to companies you may have not heard of before.

The pricing isn't bad either. If you want a month to month subscription, it's $19.85 plus $5 in shipping (totaling to $24.85). I think that's a great deal and a great price for how much you can get with each box. Subscribe to this subscription box by following this link.

And like I said, one of my lucky readers will win the October subscription box! Enter via Rafflecopter below. US Only. Ends 9/12.

If you can't wait for the giveaway to be over to get your subscription box, sign up now (and if you sign up through August 26th you can save 25% off a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription with code SCHOOL25). Also make sure you sign up for their newsletter to get updates about new gluten-free products. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and GooglePlus.

Purely Elizabeth - Tasty Granola to Start Your Day [And Giveaway]

I am always a huge fan of granola! It goes great with yogurt and a little goes a long way. So I couldn't wait to try out the granola by Purely Elizabeth. It's a company that is obviously striving to do everything they can to do good for the environment. They are part of 1 Percent for the Planet (a new organization I haven't heard of until now!) and Purely Elizabeth donates 1% of their profits to preserve the health of our planet. Plus they strive to make sure that even their packaging has less of an impact on the environment and uses eco-friendly packaging. Also they purchase from organic farmers, and their products are either natural non-GMO or organic. I love supporting companies that try to make our world a better place, so read more about Purely Elizabeth here.

purely elizabeth, granola, gluten-freeI had the chance to try out granola and even something new to me called Apple Currant. Best of all, their products are GLUTEN-FREE! Woo!

I tried a few different kinds of granola, including Original Ancient Grain Granola (2 ounce bag), Blueberry Hemp Ancient Grain Granola (2 ounce bag), and Cranberry Pecan Ancient Grain Granola (12 ounce bag). I also had the chance to try out Apple Currant Ancient Grain Muesli.

Honestly, I loved all three of the granolas I tried! They are great tasting and not too sweet I didn't think. My bag of cranberry  pecan granola was a full sized bag which lasted a good while for me. I usually mix in a little bit of granola into yogurt and so it lasts a lot longer. I found out there was dried fruit mixed in and dried fruit always gets stuck to my teeth. I would probably choose their original kind if I decide to buy this in stores. For me, the two ounce bag lasted a couple of mornings for me and then the 12 ounce bag lasted a week. But then again I don't give myself a TON of granola in the morning, but just enough so I can comfortably mix some into my morning yogurt.

Then I gave the Apple Currant a try! I did mix this into yogurt as well. At first I didn't enjoy it too much, because I just wasn't sure if I was making it right. But finally I found if I mixed a little bit in with vanilla Greek yogurt, and then added a handful sized portion of the muesli on top and then some honey, I really enjoyed it. It's an acquired experience, though, so I would honestly look up some recipes first for this one.

Overall, I love the Purely Elizabeth Granola - it's gluten-free and the ingredients are great! (Just check out the ingredient's list for the Cranberry Pecan granola - "organic certified gluten-free oats, organic coconut sugar, organic raw virgin coconut oil, organic puffed amaranth, organic quinoa flakes, organic millet flakes, organic pecans, dried cranberries, organic sunflower seeds, organic Salba chia seeds, organic cinnamon, sea salt." Obtained from

Best of all, I get to giveaway the same kinds of granola I received above to one lucky winner! (US only please). Enter via Rafflecopter below. Ends 9/7.

WB Kitchen - healthy & Tasty Brownies and Bars [Review and Giveaway]

I can't wait to tell you about this tasty new treat that I had the chance to try. And oh these were so good. WB Kitchen started in 2012 by Chris Feuille. It's paleo friendly and their honey treats they create are organic, non-gmo, and  is a paleo friendly AND gluten-free!

I had the chance to try out their Brownie Honey Cookie, Coconut Shortbread, Cinnamon Raisin, Maple Pecan, Peanut Butter as well as some of their new coffee bars that include Chocolate, Honey Nut, Peanut Ginger, and Mocha Java.

Of the ones I tried the peanut butter and brownie honey flavors were my favorite. I loved these so much - I'm a huge fan of anything peanut butter anyways. These won't make you feel guilty either because they aren't overly bogged down with sugar. The coffee bars were an interesting experience and not as much of a "cookie" or "brownie" texture as the other bars, but they were still good (I didn't have the guts to try out the peanut ginger, though to be honest!).

You know they weren't too sweet, but I loved the flavor and texture of this one. You can taste the natural flavors in these bars, and I love that. It isn't overloaded with sugar. I can imagine wanting to purchase these bars as a great snack to pack for a hike, or a road trip you are going on because they are filling, hearty, and have good ingredients.  I highly recommend!

I am also happy to announce that one lucky reader will get the chance to win one of treat made by WB Kitchen. How exciting! Enter via Rafflecopter below. Ends 9/6.

If you are too eager to wait, follow this link to start shopping on their website to purchase your favorite flavor. You can also follow them on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

Interior Design Services from Homepolish

**This post contains affiliate links and I will be compensated if you make a purchase after clicking on my links.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to have an interior designer in your home? It’s no longer just a fantasy with help from the interior design start-up Homepolish. They make it easy (and affordable!) to get an interior designer in your home who will help create the perfect space for you. The experience is truly one of a kind so we decided to break it down for you in three easy steps:

1. Let the designer get to know you:

Tell them the bare bones: are you interested in working on a home, office, store or something else? How big is it? Do you have a project budget? Do you own or rent? And then tell them the juicy stuff: What inspires you? What does your ultimate dream space look like? From picking paint colors to gutting a brownstone, they can handle any project, any size.

2. The first date, aka meet your homepolish designer:

Here’s what happens during your initial 1 hour consultation: you and your designer meet, they tour your space, you guys chat. Then your designer follows up with a few design options for improving your home/office/whatever. They start with a one hour consultation so that their designer can understand your goals, needs and wants. Communication is the foundation to every healthy relationship!

Homepolish wants the relationship between you and their designer to be as stress-free and helpful as possible. If during the initial consultation, you and your designer don't get along perfectly, Homepolish will tweak the matchmaking process and send another on the house. The initial consult is $50 or $80 (Junior and Senior rates). If you're over it, there's no pressure to buy hours after the consult.

3. Purchase your designer’s time:

One of the many reasons Homepolish is unique to the interior design world is because you purchase time by the hour. Every hour is spent working on what you need - from picking paint colors to sending you furniture options to renovating your loft. Whatever the size and however complicated your project is, they are there to help! Junior designers' time costs $100/hour, Seniors' cost $130/hour and they have two package options: a Single Day session (three hours) and The Design Package (as much time as you want with a minimum purchase of ten hours).

Save time and money, sign up with Homepolish and rework your space with an expert!

Celebrate The End of Summer with Glutino

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the summer season and this summer in particular has been fairly miserable. The heat has been tremendous! But as each season comes to an end, particular as the fall season comes in, I end up feeling a little melancholy. I realize how quickly the year has gone (although I am well aware how the awesome holidays are soon upon us!).

So, if you are in the mood to celebrate the end of summer, make sure you pick up some amazing Glutino products. I had the chance to try a few of their items, and even some new items, and I can't wait to share these with you.

As you will see above, I am showing you one of my favorite finds - tortilla dippers!! These can withstand any of your party's dip. You WILL want these - I am huge fan of things like salsa, ketchup, all that good stuff. So chip dippers like me will appreciate this. Find out more about dippers here.

Also pictured above,  I had the chance to try out the Glutino Breakfast Bars. I wasn't a huge fan of these. I wasn't too fond of the consistency and flavor (but my brother loved them, so to each their own!). Find out more about their breakfast bars here.

Also pictured above, my next summer party favorite - BUFFALO STYLE pretzels! These are so good and you won't want to share. They pack a powerhouse of flavor, they taste so good. Normally I don't like pretzels, but I love these flavored kinds. Find out more about these here.

By far these are one of my favorite english muffins - they're hearty, they taste good, they withstand the force of the toaster, and they can hold a lot of good stuff. If you happen to be celebrating your end of summer with anything that involves sandwiches, I think these taste great with tuna melts. And your gluten-free pal will appreciate this! Or maybe throw a brunch summer party? Eggs, bacon, and english muffins for everyone! Find out more here.

PB&J sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, cold cuts, and maybe even hot ham and cheese! I hope you can pick up some of this bread. I really like their bread products and they are hearty. Rarely do they fall apart (my biggest complaint about gluten-free breads). Find out more here.

"Animal crackers in my soup, monkeys and rabbits, loop-de-loop" - I LOVE animal crackers and I got a huge kick out of sharing these with my family. These are bound to take you back to your childhood days of snacking on animal crackers - they taste just as good as I remember them too!Find out more here.

How will you be celebrating the end of summer? A barbeque with family, friends or neighbors? Going to one final trip before the kiddos have to return to school? Well make sure Glutino is part of the fun, and whether or not you are gluten-free, you will love having them at your party.

Visit Glutino's website for $1.00 off coupon and you can even shop online to get Glutino delivered right to your door! Like them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Alternative Baking Company - One Smart Cookie [Review and Giveaway]

Remember my review of the Alternative Baking Company? Well I reviewed some of the amazing treats some time ago, and I can't wait to tell you about some more treats I had the chance to try recently.

The last time I reviewed some of the awesome, tasty "I can't wait for more" gluten free cookies. Well, this time I had the chance to try something called, "That's One Smart Cookie" made by the same amazing baking company. Check them out below -

I tried out Chocolate Chip and Coconut Fudge. And you know what? I thought they were pretty good! They are definitely not very sweet but actually I didn't mind. You know what I did? I stirred it into my yogurt (which gave it a major upgrade) and I enjoyed myself thoroughly. The chocolate chip has 7 grams of protein (and 8 grams net carbs) and the coconut fudge has 7 grams of protein. These were definitely a treat that needs something with it, like maybe a mild slathering of peanut butter or almond butter, or honey. As a stand alone treat, it won't be as sweet as you may like it. So definitely expect to pair these with something.

Overall, I am so excited to see what other goodies we can expect from this baking company. I think they have so much to offer the gluten-free world! Purchase "That's One Smart Cookie" by visiting this link and also feel free to like them on Facebook so you can keep track of when they're coming out with the treats in a store near you!

Also purchase other treats that are available for purchase online from alternative baking company, and you will be so happy you did.

Best of all, I get to giveaway a basket full of treats to one lucky reader. Enter via Rafflecopter below.  Giveaway ends 8/22.
