Want to hear a heart warming story?

Well this couple was reunited with their cat after losing track of their cat in the midst of a mud slide. The couple actually had to be rescued by helicopter, by the way. Talk about an intense moment!

Santa Barbara County Animal Services reunited the family and posted the Facebook video showing the couple and their cat Koshka reunited and it's adorable. The rescuers initially just found Koshka's muddy paw prints but after checking the property daily they found Koshka.

Be sure you watch this video, it's absolutely adorable:

My Hair Care Goals for 2018

Happy New Year everyone!

Alright, so the new year is upon us and I'd like to make a few hair care goals for 2018. I love my hair, I love it's color (never have dyed it) and I love how long it is and how fast it grows (sometimes I like this characteristic, sometimes I'm annoyed by it). Overall though I know I can do a better job of taking care of my hair. So here's a few hair care goals for 2018.

1) Use the right shampoo.

Anyone else tend to grab what's there in your cabinet or in the store? I tend to not pay too close attention to shampoo but I'd like to start choosing the right kind. Recently I tried out a shampoo by Maple Holistics and it's called, "Argan Oil Shampoo." This shampoo can do wonderful things for you hair including treat split ends, soften your hair and moisturizes your hair. What I love is that it doesn't weigh my hair down and I love rubbing into my scalp and then putting conditioner on the ends and just letting my hair just be for a while. I love this shampoo and Maple Holistics is a great brand to purchase. So my 2018 goal is to not only choose the right shampoo for my hair but choose the right kind of brand.  Make sure you purchase your bottle of Argan Oil Shampoo for $9.99 on the Maple Holistics website.

2) Get my hair cut (at least every six months).

I've let my hair grow long. Like really long. Near the middle of my back. It's simply because of a tough time and taking care of my hair isn't always top of the list. So this year my personal goal for my hair is to get my hair cut first and then cut it at least every eight to twelve weeks. According to Allure's article on this whole subject, getting your hair cut depends on your hair and how you take care of it. I'm sure I need to do this so much more often. Read more up on this here.

3) Style my hair better.

Whether it's through youtube styling videos or simple fashion magazine hunting, I want to learn to style my hair better. First, I must conquer number two. But I tend to put my hair up in a tragic messy bun or pony tail that I barely pay attention to and then feel bad about it later. So, I'd like to at least try.

Do you have any hair care goals for 2018? I'd love to hear them! I also love the Maple Holistics products so be sure you take a look at what they have to offer. Purchase now.

I received the above photographed shampoo in exchange for my honest review.

My 5 Skin Must Dos for 2018

photo credit: Tanviidotcom Soft Skin Remedy via photopin (license)

Ah, a new year is upon us. I'm mentally checking off all the things I'd like to keep up with this year. Good habits that I want to hold onto. Doing better with my skin is up there, of course. I have sensitive skin and it can react from anything like dryness to food sensitivities, and so I want to take care this year with how I treat my skin. Particularly my face. So what's my top five skin must dos?

1) Moisturize.

There are a ton of ways to keep your skin supple and smooth and moisturizing should be on the top of everyone's list. Lately, I use cetaphil. It's a bit expensive but it lasts long and it makes my skin just glow. I also use coconut oil at night. I'm practically glistening at the beginning of the day as well as at the very end of the day, folks.

2) Exfoliating.

I've started doing this at least once a week and technically you are not supposed to do this too much as it can damage your skin, especially if you have sensitive skin like me (twice a week is fine if you have normal skin). I use a coffee scrub Shea Moisture  - and it is so nice for my skin. I plan on doing this once a week this year. Also, I'm hearing a lot of good things about charcoal cleansers too, so I may try that as well.

3) Facial masks.

I hear good things about facial masks and this is something I'd like to try. I mean, I could have a facial mask on right now, you guys. So it's a multi-tasking thing and there's no reason why I can't do it.

4) Wear sunscreen.

Like one of my favorite songs/poems says - wear sunscreen. Seriously, it's a fantastic thing to do for your skin and the aging process will thank you. Not to mention it's something that you should be doing no matter what the season is, actually. So slather on the SPF 40. Who's with me?

5) Don't touch your face.

Okay I do have a bad habit of picking at my skin. It isn't good. The first step of changing a bad habit is by acknowledging it. I mean, seriously, if I was in that movie Contagion, I'd be the first one out with my pore examination and pimple picking I do. Gross, I know. But we all do it. So my mission this year is to keep my hands off my face.

What are you planning on doing for your skin this year? Make a list and tell me what you think!

Save Money on Uber Trips (And More)

photo credit: marcoverch Sparschweinchen, Münzen und Geldscheine via photopin (license)

I'm a huge fan of finding new ways to easily save money, especially on something I use regularly. So, if you are an Uber fan, you will want to sign up for I take Uber to and from the store pretty regularly. I don't own a car and the ride sharing thing has changed everything for me. It saves me money and actually thanks to me using Ibotta and then also now using I end up earning $3 back from almost each trip I take. Read my Ibotta post to find out how it can save you money.

I signed up for ShopYourWay and it connects with your Uber account and with each trip you earn $2 back. That may not sound like much, but I take Uber regularly so this adds up for me really fast. I've been using it since last December and as a result, I've been able to redeem my points for a coffee grinder and now three new Serta pillows are on their way to me.

I've seen some reviews online about people not enjoying this program and so far, I haven't had any problems with it. Just because of my own concerns, though, I haven't connected a credit card or debit card to my ShopYourWay account. I'm hoping though by some chance I can connect other places to ShopYourWay at a later point and maybe one day I'll feel comfortable enough to connect my credit card.

Until then, if you enjoy Uber, make sure you sign up with ShopYourWay and save money! Sign up with my referral link here.

Have you used ShopYourWay before? Let me know your thoughts on that program!

Royal Hawaiian Macadamia Nuts - Pack These for Lunch!

I'm into having snacks on hand that I can enjoy and not feel too guilty about having. So I got the chance to try out these Royal Hawaiian Macadamia Nuts. I love nuts and seeds as snacks because they are more filling and if I can get a blast of flavor in that kind of snack along the way, I'll be even more happier. And WOW these were amazing. Check out the photos below -

Ah these were just so good and they really hit the spot. When I had a sweet urge, having one of these chocolate covered macadamia's was incredibly satisfying. The cool thing is it's gluten-free, NON Gmo, and has great ingredients.

I loved the Blueberry pomegranate Macadamia Crunch (pictured above). The crunch was berry flavored but not overwhelming. It didn't stick to my teeth (HUGE PLUS) and was filling as well. I loved the dark chocolate covered ones but honestly, of all the ones I tried the Hawaiian BBQ macadamia ones were my absolute favorite!

You can purchase these macadamia's on their website. It seems a bit expensive online, but you can also visit their store locater to see where you can purchase these nearest you.

These macadamia's are perfect for snacking on the go. So often when I need a snack I have a hard time finding something that won't leave me feeling guilty (i..e chips, cookies, etc.). So having something like this on hand is such a nice go to item to toss into a lunch.

I received the above items in exchange for my honest review.

My Top 5 Favorite Ways to Eat Crackers

Snack time when you are gluten-free can be tough. So much temptation for things that aren't healthy and all that good. So I had the chance to try out these great gluten-free snacks and it made me think about all the ways I truly love to eat crackers, especially when it's a guilt free experience. For me that means healthy ingredients, not too much calories and nothing that my body will disagree with. And that I found in these crackers.

1) As a scoop for something I'm eating.

That is usually beans and rice, actually. Or a burrito. I love scooping with a cracker and it goes especially well when I'm having beans and rice, which I tend to have a lot of in my diet. Potential other scoopable food - macarooni and cheese (although doesn't compliment crackers well).

2) With cheese.

I'm a huge cheese fan. If there's a food, I'd love to be as healthy for you as a bowl of broccoli, it's cheese. And for me, these crackers I got were fantastic paired with cheese. Swiss cheese. Cheddar. Gouda. So much options!

3) Nut butters.

So, I confess, I'm a bit partial to peanut butter, but you know I do love my share of almond butter. I haven't yet tried cashew butter or sunflower butter although I do believe that's next on the agenda of nut butters I love to try. But these crackers I enjoyed paired so well with peanut butter. They break a tad easily (which is good! That means they don't have cardboard texture) but when I mastered the spreading of the peanut butter on the cracker it was a great experience.

4) Cream cheese.

Okay, so don't judge me on my choice of cream cheese, but I do enjoy it. In fact, get me so onion and chive cream cheese, put it on a cracker, and then top it with jalapeno pepper slices...YUM you guys. Such a fantastic combination. I didn't have the heart to put cream cheese with my other noted cheese item because we all know cream cheese isn't the same as regular cheese (as much as I hate admitting it).

5) Tuna salad.

Oh this is a fantastic cracker to have with tuna salad. It makes a great scoop to scoop up the tuna AND it is great to have on top of the cracker. I love tuna with lemon and a dash or two of hot sauce mixed with a bit of mayo and minced onions.

How do you like to enjoy crackers?  I even shared these crackers with a couple of people and they liked them a lot! The mild taste of the herbs and spices combined with the cracker texture made these a great hit.

So why get Jilz Crackers before any other cracker you might buy in the store? It's certified gluten-free, non-gmo and contains ingredients you can understand. Plus, they taste good and you won't feel guilty afterwards. If you like crackers but want a guilt free experience, find out where you can buy Jilz Crackers in a store nearest you.

I received the above items in exchange for my honest review.

Add KnitBest To Your Wardrobe [Review]

I love sweaters this time of year. While most of the time, I'm wearing heavier sweaters, I like the kind you can layer with other things. I had the chance to try out a couple of KnitBest sweaters that I really liked. Knit Best sells a ton of sweaters and you can find a lot of the sweaters on Amazon (my favorite place to shop!)

I'm actually fairly new to shopping online and it is such a beast of burden for me to shop for clothes online. I get so picky and it's so tough to find the right type of thing. So for me, I was excited to see how I felt about these sweaters.

Here's the first one I got -

It's a "Womens Long Sleeve Open Front Cotton Cardigan." I wore this to work and I loved the feel of it! First it's made of 100% soft cotton and WOW do I love the feel of this. It isn't scratchy one bit. It's easy to layer with too. I wore a long sleeved shirt underneath it comfortably. There were only two points I noticed. First, I'm tall (5'10) and so the sleeves weren't as long as I liked, but it wasn't noticeable to others (and barely noticeable to me). And then there's no buttons or tie to close up the sweater. Not a big deal but it's kind of nice to have the option. Purchase this now.

The other one I had to review was the this blue cardigan.

I love it, and it works well with a few sleeveless tops I can't normally wear. I would say though it's definitely on the lighter side, fabric-wise and since it's so cold this time of year, I will probably enjoy wearing it more in the spring. This one came around the waist area for, although again I'm pretty tall. My camera for this shot above was so crummy, but this is definitely a navy blue color. I promise! Purchase this now.

Also, the prices for KnitBest is what attracts me the most. They really aren't that bad. Like that blue cardigan is only about $19.99 right now and that long sleeved black one I got is only $36.99.

So purchase your KnitBest sweater and see what else they have to offer! Purchase now.

I received the above sweaters in exchange for my honest review. This post contains an affiliate link for which I will receive small compensation if you purchase through my link.
