Block Island Organics: Excellent Sunscreen for Your Face [My Review + #Coupon]

Am I the only one who completely forgets to renew their sunscreen? I mean, I swear I have stuff from like ten years ago in my bathroom cabinets.  According to the American Academy of Dermatology, your sunscreen is required by the FDA to last at least three years. So we can all breathe a sigh of relief there. But my ten year comment holds true - that stuff needs to go. If you are like me, than that means you are in need of some sunscreen. What kind should you buy?

The American Academy of Dermatology recommends your sunscreen have broad spectrum protection, SPF (which stands for Sun Protection Factor! Did you know that? I didn't!) and be water resistant.  Well I had the chance to try out a Natural Mineral Sunscreen SPF 30 by Block Island Organics and I was so impressed. It really is light weight, smells good (well, I love the smell of sunscreen anyways!) and you really don't need a lot at all.

It comes in a container size of 3.4 ounces which is a bit small. However, I personally love using this on my face because of how light weight it is, so I'm not going to use that much of it at once. The only downside is that it isn't water resistant. So if you plan on sweating a lot, or going swimming, you may want to consider using a water proof sunscreen!

The price of this is a tad expensive - about $19.99 - but I think it's worth it for quality. It's really hard to find a good sunscreen for my face that doesn't just cake on or clogs my skin. So I think you should definitely consider this!  And now through July 4th use coupon code nicole for 20% off! This code cannot be combined with other coupon codes.

The Elephant Pants - Save the Elephants & Feel Comfortable [My Review]

Do you watch the show, "Shark Tank"? I haven't caught but maybe a few episode here and there, but I loved watching the episode featuring the two guys who created "The Elephant Pants." Make sure you check it out first -

Basically, The Elephant Pants were created by two guys with a common goal - save the elephants through clothes. They started in 2014, and have sold more than 400,000 pairs of pants. They have donated more than $127,000 to organizations that work to save elephants. Isn't this amazing?? Check out their story here.  And be sure to find out how exactly they help by visiting this page too .

So, I was lucky enough to get a pair of elephant pants for my mom and I! Here's a photo of me relaxing in my elephant pants -

Well, part of a photo of me anyways. So, my initial thought was - oh how I wish that elastic band wasn't there. I almost wish it was a tie or something. If I'm relaxing, I don't like the idea of something that close to my waste. My mom thought the same thing too. But overall? I'm kind of really liking these. The fabric is thin, so this makes for an excellent pair of pants to wear in the summer. Size wise, I chose a large because I really wanted these pants to be comfortable. I can tell you these were not overly large to me. I'm also 5'9 and the length of the pants ended comfortably at the top of my foot.

Overall, I think you should consider buying yourself these pants. It's part of a good cause, perfect for the summer, and I think you'll like them. They also offer up some other really cool clothes! I've got my eye on their kimonos for sure!

Be sure to check out The Elephant Pants website and purchase some pants for yourself (or for your family!) . Also follow them on Facebook, InstagramPinterest, and Twitter.

I received the above pair of pants mentioned in my post in exchange for my honest review.

Lundberg Rice Review (and Rice Cooker Giveaway)

As you can see, I'm really into rice. Lundberg is also one of my favorite brands!

Here's a bit about the company - they can trace their roots all the way back to 1937 when founders Albert and Frances Lundberg moved to California, in the Sacramento Valley. Albert's four sons grew up to sell the rice their family had been growing and three and four generations later the company is STILL in the family. How cool is that? Read more about the Lundbergs over on their about page.

Well, I was so happy to try out this amazing VitaClay Rice Cooker  and I can't wait to tell you about it. My first impression? WOW this thing is huge. It takes up a lot of counter space and it's just...really really big.

I just tried it last night for the first time (I was daring and made some red rice they sent me). I made a cup of rice and followed their instructions on how to make it. I didn't rinse the rice as they recommend - I just added a 1/4 cup more water (which they recommend you do if you don't want to rinse the rice).

The one major plus? It is so easy to use. I literally just put the rice and the water and hit the button for "rice" and hit start. It was done within 30 minutes!

Side note: I also really like red rice by the way. It has kind of a nutty taste to it and was AMAZING with refried beans.

And one other plus is that while this is behemoth in the kitchen, it doesn't heat up the kitchen that much at all. I loved that. I can't wait for it to get near 80 and see how I feel cooking rice with this.

And one other major plus, this rice cooks up really nicely. I was able to just spoon out all the rice without any of it sticking. And this cleans extremely well too.

I haven't tried anything else with it actually. I am imagining one day I will be brave enough to cook up beans with it. But I'm just happy I have a really easy way to do rice. The only thing is that while it has a way for you to set this to start on it's own, I'd recommend starting it around a time you know you will be home by the time it's done. Apparently if you leave the rice on warm too long, it may dry the rice out. So I'd say, if you get home around 5:30pm from work or something, start this at 5pm (it's really quick to cook) (and I'm assuming you are only cooking rice of course!).

Anyways, I also had the chance to a review a few different things by Lundberg. And like I said, I LOVED the red rice I got the chance to try. I love their wild rice too. It's really flavorful and almost buttery tasting (tastes amazing with grilled onions).

Overall, if you are looking for a trust worthy and reliable rice brand, you must choose Lundberg. They're one of my favorites and they're practically everywhere I shop. Purchase your VitaClay Rice Cooker today  and make sure you purchase some Lundberg rice to go with it! Find out where they are in a store near you.

Best of all, I get to giveaway a Vitaclay rice cooker to one of my lucky readers! Ends 6/30.
